Fixed Price Cab to Stansted from Cheam
Stansted sits up in Essex, on the far side of London from Cheam. By train it means a trip into town, a change, and a ride out on the airport express from Liverpool Street. With luggage and children, that is a long morning.
A fixed price cab cuts all of that out. You get in at home and get out at the terminal. The fare is set when you book, so a slow M25 does not cost you a penny more. Drivers are licensed by Transport for London, and we pay attention to the details, like where to stop and how long the walk to check-in is.
Many low cost airlines fly from Stansted, and those flights often leave very early or land very late. That is exactly where a pre-booked car helps.
It also suits groups. Four friends sharing one car often pay less each than four train tickets, and nobody has to lug a suitcase up the stairs at Liverpool Street.
Early Morning and Late Night Taxi to Stansted
A 6am departure from Stansted can mean leaving Cheam at around 3am. Trains are not running at that hour. We are. Our office and drivers work 24 hours a day, so a middle of the night pickup is a normal job for us.
Book these runs well ahead, especially in school holidays and around bank holiday weekends. We confirm the pickup time the day before. If you have not heard from us, call and check.
Late night returns are just as easy. Your driver tracks your flight and is ready when you land, even if the plane is an hour behind schedule. The roads home are usually quiet at that time, which makes the drive back to Cheam faster than the outward run.
Stansted Airport Drop-Off and Pickup
Stansted has a single terminal building. Everything happens there, check-in, security and arrivals. There are no other terminals to mix up, which keeps things simple for you and for us.
Drop-Off Zone
Cars dropping passengers close to the terminal use the airport's set down area in front of the building. Stansted charges a fee for using it. There is also a free drop-off option further out with a bus link, but it adds time. Ask us when you book and we will explain how the drop-off is handled in your quote.
Meet and Greet Pickup
For arrivals, your driver waits inside the terminal with a board showing your name. They then walk you to the car in the short stay car park. Give us your flight number so we can follow the landing time. If you get held up at passport control or baggage, do not panic. We see the flight has landed and we wait.
Route via M11, Time and Distance
There are two main ways to drive from Cheam to Stansted. Most of the time, your driver takes the A217 to junction 8 of the M25, then follows the M25 round to junction 27 and joins the M11 north. Junction 8 of the M11 takes you on to the airport road.
The other option cuts through London on the A3 or A24, east to the A12 and up to the M11. It is fewer miles but often slower in daytime traffic. At night, when the city roads are quiet, it can be the better pick.
Typical distance is around 60 to 70 miles depending on the route. Expect around 1 hour 20 minutes to 1 hour 45 minutes in normal traffic. If the route uses the Dartford Crossing, a Dart Charge applies, so ask whether it is in your quote.
Leave plenty of slack. A long road trip means more chances for a hold up on the way.
Pick Your Vehicle
The right car depends on how many people and how many bags you have. Here are your options.

Luggage figures are a typical guide. Tell us your bag count when you book and we will match the car.
Standard / Executive / MPV / Minibus Hire (8-Seater Taxi)
A standard saloon takes up to four passengers with two large cases. The executive car seats four in a more premium cabin, ideal for business trips. The MPV seats six with four large cases, which is great for families. Minibus hire gives you an 8 seater taxi with room for six big cases, ideal for stag and hen groups or extended family trips.
